Sense-check your Priorities
You’ve done the hard thinking - time to check your work!
During the Growth Academy, you moved quickly through the platform.
You ran the SWOT analysis, identified areas to improve, prioritised them, and explored expansion scenarios for your business. That pace is deliberate. It helps surface opportunities and get the thinking moving.
But decisions made in a workshop setting are often made quickly. Sometimes by one person in the room. That is why it is worth revisiting them once you are back in the business. Not to start again. Just to sense-check that the priorities you chose still make sense.
Step 1. Start with either improvements or expansion
Go back into the platform and choose one place to start: improvements or expansion. Then revisit the decisions you made in that part of the process and sense-check whether they still feel right.
Step 2. Look at the decision again
During the program, you made a series of calls about what mattered most.
Now look at those priorities again with a bit of distance.
Ask yourself a simple question:
Now that the dust has settled, does this still feel right?
Do these still look like the improvements that matter most?
Do these still feel like the expansion ideas worth exploring?
Often, the answer is yes. That is useful because it gives you confidence that you are focusing on the right things. Sometimes something looks slightly different when you revisit it a few days later. That is useful too.
The goal is not to redo the exercise. It is simply to make sure the priorities still feel true now that you are looking at them outside the workshop.
Step 3. Share it with others
Strategy rarely improves in isolation.
Share your priorities with your team, co-founder, or a trusted adviser.
Ask them:
Do these priorities make sense?
What would you challenge?
What would you focus on instead?
Sometimes the conversation confirms your direction. Sometimes it sharpens it.
Both outcomes are useful.
Step 4. Decide what stays
After reviewing your priorities, you will usually end up doing one of three things:
Keep it as it is
Refine it slightly
Or park it for now
The goal is not perfection. It is clarity.
Once you are confident the priorities still stack up, you can move forward knowing you are working on the right things.
Final thought
Growth Academy is designed to help you step back and make better strategic calls.
Taking a little time now to revisit those calls helps ensure the thinking holds up once you are back in the day-to-day of running the business.
That is often where the real value of the program starts to appear.
